This was fun! I grew up about an hour away from Vancouver until '05, so it was so nice seeing places I'm somewhat familiar with. I'm deffo only a casual hockey enjoyer and don't keep up with the Cup, but I laughed my ass off at the transition between the stadium being hype as hell, to 'so the Canucks lost'. That's the team I remember 💙

WHAT !!!! I'm also an Habs fan through and through! I had the chance to go see them play live 2 times. I'm geographically closer to Québec but my dad's family was never Nordique fans. Here in Québec we have nostalgic people who are always against the Canadiens just by principle. Book wise now, I recently read book 1 of a french serie about hockey and ..... I was RAGING ! Thankfully it was towards the end so I got to finish it despite the high cringe level. The author wrote : THE GAME WAS 90 MINUTES & he got a RED CARD FOR BATTLE!! I was so disappointed. The author did not research more than 2 minutes. How could this pass editing and publishing. Nobody read it before or what? Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Listen. Maybe a controversial opinion but I think that gay hockey romances are the way to go. I've read many (many) hockey romances over the years and now every time I feel like reading one I'm always reaching for the gay ones. Idk why. I just think they're super sweet.

Rachel Reid is an indie author who writes gay hockey romance novels, and she is good about addressing power dynamics and ethics. Most of her work is very smutty but there should be one or two where the sex takes more time to show up.
